What this rule requires your agency to do
- 1A service coordinator shall complete at least 20 hours of training annually covering the topics in subsection (c).(55 Pa. Code § 52.27 - Service coordinator qualifications and training)
- 2A service coordinator shall complete at least 40 hours of training within the first year of employment covering: conducting a person-centered assessment; developing and modifying a service plan; using the Department's data systems; communication skills; conflict resolution skills; completing documentation; and understanding participants' disabilities.(55 Pa. - 3Qualifying experience includes coordinating assigned services, teaching living skills, aiding in therapeutic activities, and providing socialization opportunities; it does not include hands-on personal care, home maintenance, or adapting the home's physical facilities.(55 Pa. - 4A service coordinator shall have either a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by at least 12 college-level credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology or another behavioral science, or a combination of experience and training totaling 4 years of experience plus at least 12 semester hours of qualifying college-level courses.(55 Pa. - 5A service coordinator supervisor shall have at least 3 years of public or private social work experience and a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 semester hours of qualifying college-level courses (graduate behavioral-science coursework may substitute for up to 2 years of experience).(55 Pa.
