Under the MaineCare Benefits Manual, every provider of Personal Care Services must, effective January 1, 2020, use the Maine DHHS Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system to electronically capture the six federally required data elements for each in-home visit. Maine operates an open-model EVV platform, so providers may use their own compatible system provided its data can integrate with the Maine DHHS EVV system. The requirement implements Section 12006 of the 21st Century Cures Act.
