Applies to: personal care, home care, home health (HCBS)
Rhode Island EOHHS, implementing the federal 21st Century Cures Act §12006(a) EVV mandate, requires home care and personal care providers to use an EVV system that electronically verifies each Medicaid-reimbursed in-home visit. EOHHS compliance guidance sets an 85% auto-verification threshold, GPS capture for member and visit, a 500-foot geofence tolerance, retention of hard-copy documentation of manual corrections, and end-of-care status updates in the EVV system. Personal care and homemaker services have been subject to EVV since Jan. 1, 2021; home health care services since Jan. 1, 2024.
