What this rule requires your agency to do

WV Medicaid Chapter 517 governs Personal Care Services. Section 517.8 requires direct care staff (personal care aides) to complete competency-based training before providing service, covering CPR, First Aid, OSHA, abuse/neglect/exploitation, HIPAA, ADL assistance, direct-care ethics, and member health and welfare. Section 517.8.1 requires annual renewal of core trainings plus four additional hours of skill-focused training; 517.8.2 requires training documentation to be retained.
