  • 1The agency must ensure the registered nurse or appropriate agency staff initially and periodically evaluate drug interactions, duplicative drug therapy, and non-compliance to drug therapy.   • 2The agency must ensure that all personnel providing professional support services complement and are functionally integrated with other services provided to the consumer, and that the registered nurse coordinates services.   • 3The agency must ensure that when skilled nursing is provided in the home it is provided by or under the supervision of a registered nurse who has no current disciplinary action against his/her license, in accordance with the plan of care. Applies to: Home care / in-home care organizations licensed to provide professional support services (in-home skilled nursing and therapy). Supervision provisions for in-home care staff. Not nursing-home or hospital.

Tennessee's licensure rules for home care organizations providing professional support services require that in-home skilled nursing be delivered under registered-nurse supervision, that each consumer's written plan of care be reviewed by the physician and agency personnel as the condition requires (at least annually), that the RN or agency staff periodically evaluate drug therapy, and that personnel coordinate their services with other care the consumer receives.
