  • 4The agency's supervisor must provide on-site supervision at least once every 30 days to each employee assigned direct care duties during the first three months of that employee's employment.   • 5The agency must designate supervisors who each hold a license in good standing as an LPN or RN, have completed the Department-approved personal care services course plus one year of personal care experience, are registered as a CNA, or have a combination of at least five years of education and/or experience in a related field. Maine's Personal Care Agency Licensing Rule (10-144 C.M.R. ch. 129) requires each PCA to designate qualified supervisors and to provide documented on-site supervision of direct-care employees, including observation of services, competency assessment, and client-satisfaction interviews. Section 5(D) sets supervisor qualifications, on-site supervision frequency (at least every 30 days during the first three months of employment), the required content of supervisory visits, and an annual performance review.
