Florida's Home Health Agency medication administration rule governs when unlicensed aides (home health aides and CNAs) may administer medication to patients in the home. It requires that any such task be delegated and supervised by a nurse who retains responsibility, that the aide complete a medication administration training course and route validation, that an RN assess the medications before delegation, and it prohibits aides from administering medications requiring professional judgment or certain routes.
