What this rule requires your agency to do

• 1A PSA registration is valid for two years and, on renewal, the criminal history and nurse aide registry checks must be updated every two years.(IC 12-10-17.1 - Individuals in Need of Self-Directed In-Home Care (Personal Services Attendant Program))
• 2A legally responsible relative (parent of a minor individual or a spouse) is precluded from providing self-directed attendant care services for compensation under this chapter.(IC 12-10-17.1 - Individuals in Need of Self-Directed In-Home Care (Personal Services Attendant Program))
• 3To register, a personal services attendant must provide a certified resume, a limited criminal history check, the state nurse aide registry report (if applicable), three letters of reference, the registration fee, and proof of being at least 18 years of age.(IC 12-10-17.1 - Individuals in Need of Self-Directed In-Home Care (Personal Services Attendant Program))
• 4An individual may not provide attendant care services for compensation from Medicaid or the CHOICE program unless registered under section 12.(IC 12-10-17.1 - Individuals in Need of Self-Directed In-Home Care (Personal Services Attendant Program))
• 5The individual and the personal services attendant must each sign a division-approved contract stating at minimum the attendant's responsibilities, frequency of services, contract duration, hourly wage, and early-termination notice terms.(IC 12-10-17.1 - Individuals in Need of Self-Directed In-Home Care (Personal Services Attendant Program))
