What this rule requires your agency to do
- 1When the agency provides or arranges home health aide services, they shall be given in accordance with the plan of care under s. DHS 133.20 and supervised by a registered nurse or, when appropriate, a therapist [DHS 133.17(1)].(Wis. Admin. Code § DHS 133.17 — Home health aide services)

- 4Written instructions for patient care shall be prepared and updated for aides at least every 60 days by an RN or appropriate therapist, consistent with the plan of care under s. - 6In addition to the orientation under s. DHS 133.06(4)(a), the agency shall ensure all home health aides have successfully completed a training course covering the enumerated subjects (role on the health team, in-home personal care/ADLs, nutrition, meal preparation/special diets, characteristics of populations served, emotional problems of illness, safe/clean environment, reporting to the supervisor, and record-keeping) [DHS 133.17(4)(a)].(Wis. - 7Physicians, nutritionists, physical therapists, medical social workers, and other health personnel shall provide relevant training when pertinent to the duties to be assigned [DHS 133.17(4)(b)].(Wis. Admin. Code § DHS 133.17 — Home health aide services)
- 8Home health aide duties may include personal care (mouth/skin/hair/bathing), transfer and ambulation assistance, prescribed exercises, meal preparation and feeding, essential household services, toileting assistance, and assisting with self-administration of medications [DHS 133.17(2)].(Wis.
