Hawaii Med-QUEST requires providers of Medicaid personal care and home/community-based services to use an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system capturing the six data elements mandated by the 21st Century Cures Act. Statewide mandatory use began December 30, 2020, with claim denials for non-compliance beginning October 1, 2021, and a 15% cap on manual visit edits.
