What this rule requires your agency to do

  • 1The provider must provide and document (with signatures, except computer-based training) caregiver training covering basic first aid; medication assistance if applicable; care for clients with conditions such as Alzheimer's or cognitive disabilities; confidentiality of client information and protection of client rights; documentation and recordkeeping procedures; ethics and interpersonal relationships; proper lifting and transfer techniques if applicable; and infection control techniques.   • 5The provider must ensure each caregiver is able to read, write, and communicate effectively with the client and supervisor and is capable of completing assigned job duties and following a care services plan with minimal supervision.
