What this rule requires your agency to do

  • 1To become a Community Health Worker through OHCC, an active Homecare or Personal Support Worker must hold the OHCC HCW Professional Development Certification and a current CPR/First Aid certification and register for the 96-hour CHW training.(OHCC Certification Courses (CPR/First Aid, Professional Development, Enhanced, Exceptional, VDQ, CHW, THW, OIS-G))
  • 2The Exceptional for Personal Support Workers certification requires the prerequisites of active Enhanced Certification, CPR/First Aid certification, and OIS-G Certification.(OHCC Certification Courses (CPR/First Aid, Professional Development, Enhanced, Exceptional, VDQ, CHW, THW, OIS-G))
  • 3OIS-G is a required component of the Exceptional Personal Support Worker Certificate Program; PSWs enrolled who do not have an OIS-G Certificate will be enrolled in an OHCC OIS-G course.(OHCC Certification Courses (CPR/First Aid, Professional Development, Enhanced, Exceptional, VDQ, CHW, THW, OIS-G))
