Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV
Wisconsinsub_regulatoryWisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Medicaid Services
What this rule requires your agency to do
- 1The alternate EVV vendor must train the provider's administrators, who must then train workers; administrators must also complete Sandata's aggregator training to confirm visit data has been fully received.(Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV)
- 2Providers must use the DHS-provided Sandata system until their alternate EVV system is ready to use, and must use technical specification v2.5.(Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV)
- 3Providers are responsible for any costs related to the implementation of, or training for, an alternate EVV system.(Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV)
- 4Providers and vendors may be required to recertify their alternate EVV system at DHS request; providers whose systems fail to complete required recertification may be required to transition to the DHS-provided EVV system until recertification is complete.(Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV)
- 5Providers who choose an alternate EVV system must review the business requirements for alternate EVV systems (P-02663), complete the Sandata alternate EVV certification and Sandata aggregator portal setup process, and learn/train agency workers on the system.(Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV)
- 6Alternate EVV systems are required to integrate with the Sandata aggregator so that visit information is sent to Sandata and fed to DHS; only visits in a verified status are sent to the payer for claims processing.(Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV)
- 7Providers must complete each step on the Alternate EVV Certification Process Checklist (P-02663A) and complete and submit the Alternate Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Attestation (F-02659) to Sandata.(Electronic Visit Verification (EVV): Alternate EVV)
Applies to: personal care
Wisconsin DHS's alternate EVV policy requiring providers that use a non-DHS (alternate) EVV system to complete Sandata certification and aggregator setup, integrate with the Sandata aggregator, submit an attestation, and recertify on DHS request.
