What this rule requires your agency to do

  • 3The agency's health care practitioner must conduct supervisory visits for unlicensed in-home caregivers at least every 90 days, and at least annually while the caregiver is providing care.   • 6The agency must ensure that licensed caregivers meet the requirements of their occupational licensing board and perform activities only under the supervision of persons authorized by state law. 10A NCAC 13J .1110 governs supervision and competency of in-home aides/caregivers employed by NC-licensed home care agencies. Agencies must document caregiver competency (including a task demonstration) before assigning tasks, restrict unlicensed caregivers to demonstrated-competency tasks, and provide health care practitioner supervision with documented supervisory visits at least every 90 days and annually.
