What this rule requires your agency to do

• 2Speech-language pathologists must hold a master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology and either be licensed in the state or, in a non-licensing state, meet the specified supervised clinical practicum, supervised experience, and national examination requirements; audiologists must meet the specified ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence requirements (subd. b, n).(42 CFR 484.115 — Condition of Participation: Personnel Qualifications)
• 3Social workers must hold a master's or doctoral degree from a CSWE-accredited school of social work with 1 year of social work experience in a health care setting; social work assistants must meet the specified degree/experience or proficiency-examination requirements and work under the supervision of a qualified social worker (subd. l, m).(42 CFR 484.115 — Condition of Participation: Personnel Qualifications)
• 4Licensed practical (vocational) nurses must have completed a practical (vocational) nursing program, be licensed in the state where practicing, and furnish services under the supervision of a qualified registered nurse; registered nurses must be graduates of an approved school of professional nursing licensed in the state where practicing (subd. e, k).(42 CFR 484.115 — Condition of Participation: Personnel Qualifications)

• 7Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants must be licensed/regulated where applicable and meet the applicable education, accreditation, and examination requirements specified for their profession and applicable time period (subd. f, g, h, i).(42 CFR 484.115 — Condition of Participation: Personnel Qualifications)
• 8The HHA administrator must meet the qualification standards for the applicable hire date: for those employed before January 13, 2018, a licensed physician, registered nurse, or a person with training/experience in health service administration and at least 1 year of supervisory administrative experience in home health or a related program; for those beginning on or after January 13, 2018, a licensed physician, registered nurse, or holder of an undergraduate degree with health service administration experience including at least 1 year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health or a related program (subd. a).(42 CFR 484.115 — Condition of Participation: Personnel Qualifications)
