Nevada's Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 3500 (Personal Care Services), implementing the federal 21st Century Cures Act EVV mandate, requires PCS providers to use an approved Electronic Visit Verification system to electronically document each personal care visit. EVV must capture the six federally required data elements (type of service, recipient, date, location, provider, and start/end times), and all services must be documented and verified in an approved EVV system. Nevada uses an "Open Choice Model" allowing use of the state-contracted vendor system or an approved alternate/existing system.
