What this rule requires your agency to do
- 1The provider must not hire an individual as an attendant who has not submitted to the required background checks, who has pled guilty to or been convicted of a felony related to theft or drugs or a misdemeanor or felony related to sexual or violent offenses (including assault), or who is unable to understand and carry out a participant's instructions. - 2The attendant must participate in attendant training provided by the participant related to the participant's specific care needs, and, if applicable, dementia-care training established by 910 KAR 4:010. (910 KAR 1:090 Section 8(1)(h))(910 KAR 1:090 - Personal care assistance services)
- 3The program coordinator must meet minimum qualifications of a bachelor's degree plus two years' experience with the disability community, or 54 college semester hours plus four years' such experience. (910 KAR 1:090 Section 10(1))(910 KAR 1:090 - Personal care assistance services)
- 4The program coordinator must complete at least 16 hours of orientation training within 30 working days of hire and a minimum of 14 hours of initial program coordination training within the first six months of employment, plus quarterly follow-up trainings.
